Colonie Police: Two arrested after crash, attempted getaway


COLONIE, NY (WRGB) Police in Colonie say they arrested two people after an Albany man fled a traffic stop, then attempted to getaway in another vehicle after crashing his car.

Investigators say that on Saturday, March 3rd just before 2:00 AM, police attempted to stop a gold Infiniti, when the vehicle sped off near Lisha Kill Road.

That vehicle was later found unoccupied and crashed into trees at the end of Broderick Street. Police say there was blood at the scene and footprints in the snow leading away from the scene.

Police and K9 officers searched the area until around 3:15 AM when investigators say the driver was spotted running from in between two homes on Roberts Drives to a waiting BMW.

Officers pulled that vehicle over, locating 34 bags of marijuana and a stolen pistol from Massachusetts.

Police say the driver of the Infinity, 39 year old Larry Faulkner, was taken to Albany Medical Center with significant facial injuries. He's charged with criminal possession of a weapon. possession of marijuana, aggravated unlicensed operation and fleeing a police officer.

The driver of the BMW, 23 year old El-Jaquaad Faulkner was charged with marijuana possession, according to police. A third person involved was not charged.
