Duck derby raises awareness for autism

SCHENECTADY -- Mohawk Harbor was filled with ducks, Saturday, as the Autism Society of the Greater Capital Region hosted its 3?rd? Annual Duck Derby for Autism.

Organizers say the derby raises awareness and appreciation for the members of the Capital Region autism community.

Five thousand rubber ducks were launched into the harbor and raced to the finish line, where the first three, and the "unlucky duck" last-place duck, won cash prizes.

The event also featured vendors, music, and games. All money raised will go to support Greater Capital Region families affected by autism.
