Man breaks into Hoosick Falls convenience store, drags off ATM with chain

Entire ATM stolen in early morning burglary at gas station

HOOSICK FALLS, NY (WRGB) - It was three in the morning at a Sunoco on State Route 7 in Hoosick Falls. A masked man, breaking in through the front door and wrapping a chain around an ATM that only had around 80 dollars in it. Before leaving he grabbed some cigarettes. After getting his fill, without even unplugging the machine, he took off, and the alarm doesn't even go off, until after he's gone.

Now the owner says the man caused more than 10,000 dollars in damage. Both doors and the ATM will have to be replaced. But strangely enough, The owner says the man stole more money in cigarettes than what was in the ATM. If you have information, contact the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office.

They're looking for a man, possibly white, that's between 5'9" and 6'1" tall. They said the man appeared to be wearing a tan hat that covered his face and wore a tan-colored jacket and dark pants.
