Family: Bone marrow transplant successful
Happy news for a Columbia County baby who received a bone marrow transplant from his sister.
Little Jensen was born with an immune disorder called Severe Combined Immunodeficiency or SCID, which left him without an immune system.
His older sister -- age 2 -- was a perfect match, and donated marrow to her brother earlier this year.
While initial results were positive, the family had to wait a long 100 days for confirmation that the transplant was successful.
Now, they tell CBS6 the 8-month old is doing "fantastic."
