Faso concedes to Delgado after tightly contested race
Republican John Faso has conceded the race for the 19th Congressional District to Democrat Antonio Delgado.
The hotly-contested race drew national attention and was widely seen as a toss-up going into Election Day.
With all precincts reporting, Delgado led by roughly 8,000 votes.
"The results are not what we hoped for. I have called [Delgado] and congratulated him on his victory," Faso said.
"I also know those of us in this room and across this district never gave up hope, even in the darkest times. And tonight we sent out an unmistakable message: that we can fix what’s broken," Delgado said.
Faso was bidding for his second term after originally getting elected to the post in 2016.
