Fire destroys house in Esperance

ESPERANCE, NY -- Firefighters from nine fire departments responded to a house fire Thursday morning in Schoharie County.

The fire started in the town of Esperance on State Highway 30-A around 2 a.m. Firefighters say it posed a challenge because they had trouble getting water to the flames. No injuries were reported, but there was a woman inside that made it out. The cause is still under investigation.
