ALBANY, NY (WRGB)--Donning hard hats and shovels, local leaders broke ground on the new Albany Damien Center site.
The agency that supports people with HIV and AIDS is housed in a temporary location after the original location was destroyed in a fire back in 2013.
The new building will be home for the center and include 20 apartments to provide members with a secure and safe place to live.
The new $5 million, 26,000 square foot facility is set to be open in August 2017.
