UPDATE: State Police say an hours-long standoff began when they attempted to serve a felony arrest warrant Wednesday afternoon.

Officers attempted to contact Paul Gervasio, 32, of Halfmoon, at a residence on County Route 7 in Schodack. Initial attempts were unsuccessful.

At about 6:30 Thursday morning, Gervasio appeared on the roof of the residence, and began speaking with officers. Crisis negotiators responded and engaged with Gervasio, who eventually surrendered without incident.

Gervasio was arraigned in Halfmoon Town Court and remanded to Saratoga County Jail.
