Hudson lawmakers pass new sanctuary city legislation

HUDSON, NY (WRGB)--A local community is working to keep undocumented immigrants in the country.

Hudson's common council passed legislation Tuesday, to officially make the city a sanctuary city.

That means authorities there won't report undocumented immigrants to federal immigration agents, or cooperate fully with the feds.

Earlier this year President Trump signed an executive order that would pull federal funding from sanctuary cities.
