HVCC Foundation to honor GlobalFoundries at annual gala
CAPITAL REGION, NY (WRGB) — The Hudson Valley Community College Foundation hosts its annual fundraising gala at which GlobalFoundries will be honored, Friday evening.
GlobalFoundries (GF) is one of the world’s leading semiconductor manufacturers. With the construction of their Fab 8 chip fabrication facility in Malta in 2009, the company became on the Capital Region’s leading employers and a catalyst for economic growth.

Hudson Valley’s Training and Education Center for Semiconductor Manufacturing and Alternative and Renewable Technologies (TEC-SMART) in Malta has served as an essential workforce training site for the company for more than a decade. The growing GlobalFoundries workforce already includes hundreds of Hudson Valley graduates and student apprentices.
GlobalFoundries also had partnered with Hudson Valley to inspire future generations of talent through Girls in STEM and FIRST Robotics initiatives and events.
