Man convicted after fatal boat crash seeks new trial
LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (WRGB) - The man convicted of killing a child with his boat on Lake George is trying to earn a new day in court.
Alexander West hopes to get a new trial for the 2016 fatal boat crash that landed him in state prison.
West was convicted of manslaughter and other counts, as prosecutors proved he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol when he killed 8-year-old Charlotte McCue.
His attorney appeared in the Appeals Division of the State Supreme Court in Albany to try and set in motion a process that could make him a free man.
