Niskayuna, NY (WRGB) — Earlier today the DEC received a call from Schenectady County 911 about a moose seen several times along the Mohawk River.
The Niskayuna Police Department confirmed that there was a moose in the area of Hillside Ave near Providence Ave.
Officials want to remind the public to leave moose and other wildlife alone when they make their way to populated areas as wild animals are likely to return to the wild on their own if not disturbed.
Police says you should not feed the wild animal or approach the moose.
DEC wildlife employees are hopeful the moose moves north back into the wilds of the lower Adirondacks.
Please contact the Unified Communications Center at 518-630-0911 with any sightings or concerns.
