SARATOGA SPRINGS (WRGB) -- Multiple fire departments were called to a fire Sunday night at the Lake Local restaurant on Saratoga Lake.

According to Saratoga County dispatch, the fire happened shortly before 10 PM. They say it was under control in about an hour with no reported injuries.

Fire Officials believe the fire at the Lake Local restaurant was electrical and started in a wall near the kitchen, then spread up to the attic.

They say the damage is extensive but they don't believe the building is a total loss.

"There's considerable damage to the kitchen area, and to some of the support areas, water, smoke, and a little fire damage in the dining room area, and lot of damage in the attic space." Saratoga Springs Assistant Fire Chief Peter Shaw said.

The Lake Local manager was at the scene Monday morning surveying the damage. She says she and the dozens of employees are devastated. They only opened for the season last week.

They posted the following statement on their Facebook page:

"As you may know there was a fire last night at Lake Local after closing, thankfully no one was hurt. We want to thank the Saratoga Springs Police and Fire Department and all first responders at the scene last night. They went above and beyond to quickly extinguish the fire and minimize damage to the areas not impacted by the flames, even covering property with tarps to protect it. We are working diligently to clean up the site and hope to reopen the outside area, bar and food truck/accessory kitchen that were not impacted. We will be working closely with the City of Saratoga Springs to permit and repair the existing building as quickly as possible, with hopes of reopening for the season. Thank you for everyone's support during this time."

Our media partners at the Daily Gazette report that the Saratoga Springs Fire and Police Departments, Quaker Springs, and Malta Ridge Fire departments all responded to the call along with Wilton EMS.
