ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — The New York State Association of Nurse Anesthetists rallying at the state capitol Tuesday morning, calling on the state to recognize CRNAs as a profession.
They're pushing for legislation that would ensure patients in New York state access to anesthesia in more rural hospitals.
"We are extremely valuable to the state of New York in delivering safe surgical and anesthetic services. It’s about time we have recognition for what it is we’ve been doing for 150 years. We believe that if 49 other states can figure it out New York can as well."
According to the association, this legislation would increase the quality of anesthesia and surgical services overall.
