Officials: Pittsfield home likely a total loss after fire

PITTSFIELD -- Both occupants escaped safely from a fire on Highland Avenue Friday afternoon.

Fire officials say it happened at a single-family home.

Firefighters were able to rescue two of the homeowners' cats from the building, returning them to the family. A third cat was found dead.

Officials say the home is likely a total loss.
