Boil water advisory lifted in Schenectady County

UPDATE: The boil water advisory was lifted on Sept. 14.

SCHENECTADY COUNTY, N.Y. (WRGB) - The Schenectady County Department of Environmental Health has issued a boil water order for portions of the Town of Glenville due to a water main break.

The following areas of the Town of Glenville are affected:

• Sacandaga Road from Van Voast Lane to North Road

• Van Voast Lane

• Snake Hill Road

• Closson Road

• Bolt Road

• Church Road

• North Road

• Rector Road

• Ridge Road

• Maura Lane

• Dawson Rd

All residents in the areas above have been ordered to boil all water for drinking and culinary purposes until further notice.

Do not drink the water without boiling it first. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water certified for sale by the New York State Department of Health. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills most bacteria and other organisms in the water.
