Deputies: Man on parole accused of possessing defaced handgun, drugs
SCHENECTADY, NY (WRGB) Schenectayd County Sheriff's Office arrested a parolee on gun and drug charges after an investigation in Schenectady.
Investigators say on Thursday, at around 10:15 AM, 30 year old Timothy Figueroa was taken in to custody, charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and obstruction.
Investigators say deputies with the Scehenectady County Sheriff's Department observed Figueroa leaving his residence while carrying a fanny pack. As investigators approached him, police say he ditched the fanny pack and fled back into his residence.
The Sheriff's Office says that after brief communications, investigators were able to direct Figueroa back outside where he was arrested.
Investigators say they recovered two ounces of crack cocaine from his residence, the fanny pack contained a defaced loaded handgun
Figueroa had recently been released from federal parole in April 2018 after serving 3 years in federal prison for heroin distribution.
