Police: Marijuana, swords, daggers among items found in Delmar home


BETHLEHEM, N.Y. (WRGB) – An executed search warrant tied to an ongoing investigation has landed two Delmar men behind bars.

Authorities say they searched a home on Longmeadow Drive on Friday and found a small marijuana growing operation in addition to evidence that a larger growing operation was recently removed.

Police also say they found five cane swords, metal knuckles, 13 Kung Fu throwing stars, two sets of chucka sticks, a metal knuckle knife, numerous daggers, and a bullet proof vest.

Joseph Martin, 42, and Daniel Johnson, 48, are each charged with 12 misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a weapon as well as misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of marijuana and unlawfully growing cannabis.

Both men were arraigned in the Town of Bethlehem Court and sent to the Albany County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. They’re due back in court on August 7.
