Police: Woman arrested, found intoxicated with injured baby.

Police say Stephanie Wilson was almost 6 times the level of what NYS considers intoxication. A 4 month old baby was hospitalized with severe burns.

GLOVERSVILLE, NY (WRGB) Last Thursday, Gloversville police say officers responded to a report of a suspicious noise at an apartment building on Fremont Street.

Police say officers knocked for 20 minutes without answer, and could hear an infant crying inside.

When 32-year-old Stephanie Wilson finally opened the door, police say she was so drunk she could barely stand, sit up, or speak.

Police say inside her apartment, officers found a 4-month-old baby with second and third degree burns to its head.

Both the infant and Wilson were taken to Nathan Littauer Hospital.

Police say tests revealed Wilson's blood alcohol content to be .477% which is nearly 6 times the legal limit of what New York State considers intoxicated, and above the threshold of possible death due to alcohol poisoning.

A spokesperson for the hospital says the baby has since been released.

Police say it's unknown when the infant suffered the burns, but that it was evident they were not taken to the hospital for treatment prior to this incident.

Wilson is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and is being held at the Fulton County Jail.
