Rabbi responds to president's announcement on Jerusalem

Rabbi Ted Lichtenfeld

Earlier Wednesday, President Trump acknowledged Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, announcing plans to move the U.S. Embassy to that city.

Rabbi Ted Lichtenfeld of Congregation Agudat Achim in Schenectady said Jerusalem is important to his religion, and is treated with reverence by Jews around the world.

"I think the United States recognizing that as an effect on the ground is something that confers honor on the decision the Israeli people have made," he said.
