Red Cross honors officers who saved a baby's life
Two Amsterdam police officers were recognized Tuesday for their quick thinking earlier this year.
In August, they made a traffic stop -- and saved an infant's life.
Officers Keelan Zyzes and Eduardo Ortiz are two of the 11 recipients of the American Red Cross; annual Real Heroes Award.
back in August, the two officers thought they were in a high-speed chase with a criminal. When they stopped the card, they realized the driver was a frantic father -- whose 6-week-old daughter wasn't breathing.
The officers performed CPR, and saved the baby's life.
Other recipients were honored for saving animals, helping deliver a baby, and empowering veterans through music.
