RENSSELAER (WRGB) Things will be a bit greener in the city, as a planting project begins this week.
Capital Roots and 32 volunteers will plant a rain garden, border gardens, and trees around Rensselaer Thursday and Friday, part of Capital Roots' Urban Greening program.
Many larger-scale greening projects are on hold because of the COVID-19 pandemic. but organizers say this week's project will go forward, with safety and health precautions in place.
Urban Greening began in 1989, and Capital Roots has planted thousands of trees and implemented dozens of public landscaping projects throughout the region.
