COLONIE, N.Y. (WRGB) - A community is honoring the life and legacy of a state trooper who lost his life due to the effects of 9/11.

The newly renovated Roessleville Park in Colonie is being dedicated to Michael Anson.

Anson passed away in January from illnesses connected to his work at Ground Zero.

Anson served 31 years with State Police.

The park now has new play equipment and new landscaping.

Anson has a deep connection to Roessleville as he had previously run a summer recreation camp at the park.
