ROTTERDAM (WRGB) Police say two drivers involved in a crash on Curry Road early Monday evening were both charged with driving while intoxicated.

At about 7 p.m., Rotterdam Police responded to a two-car accident with injuries, near the District 2 Volunteer Fire Department. The two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions on Curry Road, and struck head on in the roadway. Fire department members who were at the station responded immediately, and assisted the occupants of both vehicles.

Police investigation determined that Kenshaun Gladden, 29, of Schenectady, was traveling eastbound when he drifted into the westbound lane, causing the collision. He was charged with DWI and failure to keep right.

The driver of the westbound vehicle, Kevin Swarczewski, 60, of Rotterdam was injured and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Investigation determined that he, too, had been driving while intoxicated, and he was charged.

Both drivers were released on tickets to return to Rotterdam Court at a later date.
