Scotia home reportedly damaged by car

Authorities in Scotia are investigating damage to a home that was possibly caused by a car. That's according to Schenectady County Dispatch.

SCOTIA, NY (WRGB) -- Scotia Police said one person was inside a home on Fifth Street when a car slammed into it just after 2 a.m. Thursday.

According to police, that person was able to escape the house unharmed. However, officials had to bring in a front loader to prop the house up.

Police say the vehicle that struck the home was stolen from the 100 block of Bruce Street.

The windshield was reported to have been broken. Police are concerned that the driver, described as a long haired male in his teens, may be injured.

The crash remains under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
