Siena Coach Patsos resigns as basketball head coach
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -- Siena College announced they have accepted the resignation of men’s head basketball coach Jimmy Patsos.
“Our men’s basketball program is among the many treasured traditions at Siena and a source of great pride among students, alumni, fans, and supporters. Over the years, the team has celebrated wins on some of the sport's biggest stages, and, experienced difficult losses and disappointments. Most importantly, the program has consistently represented the College with class, honor, and integrity." said Br. F. Edward Coughlin, president of Siena
The college will immediately begin a national search for a new head coach, according to a release.
Patsos came under fire after reports of investigation following reports of verbal abuse toward the team's student manager
Patsos says he does not know why these accusations against him were made by a student manager of the team who he says he has a great relationship with.
"I don't want to say his name but I absolutely love this manager, and I was absolutely surprised to hear he had made this complaint." he said in a press conference last week.
