ALBANY, N.Y. (WRGB) Fire Investigators remain on the scene of an early morning fire in Albany.
Crews arrived at a home on Watervliet Avenue just before 3 a.m. with heavy smoke visible.
Albany Battalion Chief Bill Hummel tells us crews encountered flames on the first floor.
We're told six people were inside the home. All were safely evacuated.
Firefighters located the source of the fire in the back of the building and quickly knocked it down.
No word on what caused the fire at this time.
Fire investigators remain on scene trying to determine a cause.
