The Spa City is getting some major accolades from a well known publication.

Travel Magazine listed Saratoga Springs in their top 30 most charming cities in the US.

From catching a race.... To something a little more low key like a visit to one of the many spas and natural springs, these are among the many options that according to Travel Magazine, make Saratoga Springs one of America’s most charming cities.

"Saratoga has so much to offer....”

Helen Watson who manages the 32 room Adelphi Hotel downtown says while the track draws in big business, there’s much more to this small city, once labeled the original Hamptons, that brings in people from all over.

"Just the quaintness of downtown Saratoga. You know, Main Street America. Broadway is truly beautiful.”

And the pandemic, oddly enough, seems to have played a key role in keeping their rooms occupied.

It seems people are looking for that “charm” the city’s known for, along with something close by.

“We’ve had a lot of first time visitors to Saratoga that would come in from a 2 to 3 hour drive. I think that people were doing their research and looking for places to go that were special and interesting and unique.”

Of course, a little plug from a big magazine never hurts.

Watson along with other businesses she’s spoken with expect their busy season to pick up some from last year....especially now with “some” level of capacity returning to the Track and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.

"It’s not going to be normal, but there will be a semblance of normalcy.”

But the consensus and the hope here is they’ll be back to 100 percent, by next summer.
