WHITEHALL -- The VIllage of Whitehall is under a state of emergency after the partial collapse of an abandoned building on Main Street.

No injuries were reported in the partial collapse of the building, adjacent to the Amtrak station and fire department.

Demolition of the rest of the building will begin shortly.

National Grid is shutting off power to the area, and officials from multiple agencies are monitoring the situation.

Residents in the immediate Broadway area are being relocated until the demolition is complete. For any other residents wishing to evacuate the immediate area, the Whitehall Rec Center will be open.
