State Police: President of Power Recycling arrested on grand larceny charge
AMSTERDAM, NY (WRGB) State Police have arrested the President of a recycling company, charging him with grand larceny.
Investigators say 65 year old Sam Donadio was arrested and charged.
State Police say an investigation revealed that the Stewart's Corporation was shorted $150,000 over a period of multiple years.
The shortage came from the returnable recyclable products where Stewart's was paid a reduced amount for the returnable materials, according to police.
Donadio was arraigned in the Town of Wilton.
An attorney for the company provided a statement, stating that Power Recycling is a family owned business that employees 200 people in Montgomery County.
The attorney says in that statement that back in December of 2017 a dispute developed between Stewarts Shops and Power Recycling over terms of a recycling contract and that Power Recycling funded an independent accountant’s review of all records in an effort to resolve this matter.
