State Police: Texas men face DWI, weapons charges

COLONIE -- Two men from Texas are behind bars Saturday, following their arrest by troopers Friday afternoon.

State Police say troopers were dispatched shortly before 5 p.m. for a report of an erratic tractor trailer, weaving and cutting off other vehicles as it traveled south on the Northway from Saratoga County into Albany County.

Troopers located the 2001 Volvo tractor trailer and stopped it in Colonie.

The driver was identified as Doyne Muhammad, 46, of Dallas. Muhammad failed standardized sobriety tests and was arrested. He was charged with DWI in Commercial Vehicle, and numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

Investigation revealed that the passenger, Tevin Bruner, 25, of Crowley, Texas, had a loaded handgun inside the cab of the truck. Bruner was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd; a Class C Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd - Ammunition Clip, a Class D Felony, and Unlawful Possession Ammunition Feeding Device, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Both were arraigned Saturday in Town of Colonie Court, and remanded to the Albany County Jail. Muhammad was remanded on $20,000 cash/bond, and Bruner with no bail, both to reappear in Town of Colonie Court on Jan. 22.
