State Police: Three arrested in connection to Stewart's robbery


FORT JOHNSON, NY (WRGB) State Police have arrested three people in connection to a robbery.

Police say on Monday at around 5:00 PM a man walked into the Stewart's Shop on Main Street in the Village of Fort Johnson. Police say he claimed to be armed with a knife when he robbed the store.

Investigators say he then took money from the register and fled on foot on Lepper Road.

Some clothing and sneakers were located in a nearby cemetery, items police say were used in the robbery.

Police say 29 year old Nicholas Angelo of Amsterdam was arrested, charged with Robbery. Two others, 25 year old Caitlyn Starke of Stillwater and 24 year old Robert Brumley were both charged with conspiracy and criminal possession of stolen property.

All three were arraigned in the Town of Amsterdam and sent to the Montgomery County Jail on $25,000 bail.

Police are investigating if any of the suspect were involved in other local robberies in the Montgomery and Saratoga County area.
