State Police: Traffic stop for 'move over law' leads to three arrests, list of charges


COEYMANS, NY (WRGB) State Police have arrested three people after stopping a vehicle they say was in violation of the move over law.

State Police say Troopers were responding to a rollover crash involving a tractor trailer on I-87 in the Town of Coeymans back on Thursday at around 3:30 AM.

Police say a vehicle driven by 38 year old Mark Scerbo, nearly struck a State Trooper on scene.

After State Police stopped the vehicle, Scerbo was found to be intoxicated, according to police.

After a search of the vehicle, police arrested 55 year old Veronica Peschieri-Walczak and 37 year old Brian Jewett.

Police found around 345 concentrated cannabis cartridges as well as concentrated marijuana resin.

Investigators say they also recovered 11.5 grams of marijuana.

All were charged with several county of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Scerbo was also charged with possession of marijuana, DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation as well as multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
