Strong winds cause tree to fall on garage at a Glenville home

CAPITAL REGION (WRGB) — Police Chief Steve Janik says the tree fell onto the garage around noon on Friday.

Bill Drapo, the homeowner, was at work when he says his wife called and said the tree had crushed the garage.

He says his wife just walked through the garage and minutes later, the tree fell. Luckily, no one was hurt.

The building inspector came and says the house isn't safe to live in right now. The homeowner is still trying to get the insurance company here and find someone to remove the tree.

He says his family is still trying to figure out where they'll spend the night, but with no means of transportation, their options may be limited.
