Tree collapse leads to power outages in Schenectady


SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (WRGB) – There was trouble for community members on West Alley in Schenectady on Wednesday. Many were without power after a tree collapsed on the road.

Basically all traffic was blocked by the tree laying across the street in the early parts of Wednesday. A National Grid spokesperson says that when the tree fell, it broke a pole, leaving 61 customers without power.

At last check, National Grid expected to have power restored by just after 3 p.m.
