Troy opening cooling stations Sunday

TROY, N.Y. (WRGB) With warmer temperatures expected in the area over the next few days, Troy City officials announced Saturday that it will activate cooling stations in four neighborhood locations starting Sunday.

The locations are 120th Street Park in Lansingburgh, Little Italy Market Place (5th Avenue, Liberty and Hill Streets), 7th Avenue Park (Ingalls and 7th Avenues) and Canal Street Park (3rd Street and Canal Avenue). The cooling stations will be open from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m., weather permitting.

Also, splash pads are open to the public at various city parks, including: Frear Park, Prospect Park, Knickerbacker Park and Riverfront Park. The Troy Housing Authority will be allowing residents to access to their six splash pad play areas located at Phelan Court, Fallon Apartments, Griswold Heights, Martin Luther King Apartments, the Taylor Apartments and Corliss Park.
