Troy police release name of shooting victim

TROY--Troy police say they are investigating a shooting in their city.

We're told it happened around 9:35 p.m. Monday in the area of 395 Ninth Street.

Officials from the Mayor's office tell CBS6 that the victim was identified as Luis Morales-Ortiz, 23, of Cohoes.

He was driven to St Mary's Hospital in Troy, then taken to Albany Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. CBS6 is told the victim is in critical condition after undergoing surgery.

No arrests have been made.
