Two Troy men charged in Delmar home invasion
DELMAR -- Two men from Troy face felony charges after a robbery Wednesday afternoon.
Bethlehem police responded shortly before 5 p.m. to a report of an armed home invasion on Orchard Street. It was reported that suspects had entered the house and attempted to steal property, displaying what appeared to be a semi-automatic firearm. Police say the suspects did steal U.S. currency from the victim, who was uninjured.
According to police, the suspects fled in a silver pick-up truck. The suspect vehicle was located in Troy, by Troy police officers, about two hours after the robbery report. Jevon I. Johnson, 18, and La-Tae D. Wells, 21, both of Troy, were arrested and charged with felony counts of Robbery in the 1st degree, Robbery in the 2nd degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm in the 1st degree and Burglary in the 1st degree.
Both suspects were arraigned in Town of Bethlehem Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail without bail. A preliminary hearing is set for Monday in Bethlehem court.
Police are continuing their investigation, with the aid of the Troy Police Department and New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision-Parole.
