WEBSITE: NXIVM suspends operation, cancels events.
ALBANY, NY (WRGB) The company whose founder is facing charges that he coercing women into sexual slavery has announce online that it is suspending operations.
In a post on the NXIVM website, they say that they are suspending enrollment, and events "until further notice"
The company statement further says that they are "disappointed" and that they believe it "is warranted by the extraordinary circumstances facing the company at this time."
The founder, Keith Raniere, was arraigned back in May on sex trafficking and forced labor charges in Brooklyn . Appearing beside him in court was actress Allison Mack, alleged recruiter of the "self-help" group. Mack is currently out on $5 million bond.
Raniere is in court on Tuesday, looking to get out on bail. He has pleaded not guilty.
