ALBANY, NY (WRGB) - A woman accused of throwing pieces of pork at a synagogue in Greenport appeared in court today.

Tara Rios is charged with Harassment in the First Degree as a Hate Crime.

Investigators say Rios went to a Jewish Synagogue on January 19th and threw a package of pork chops onto the front steps of the Congregation Anshe Emeth in Greenport.

Police also say she returned to the scene later that night to take photos.

Rios was released on her own recognizance and is due back in court on Monday.
