Work begins on Nott Terrace Mudslide site
SCHENECTADY (WRGB) – Contractors say they plan to start rebuilding the slope on Nott Terrace Wednesday, after a mudslide more than two weeks ago.
Land crashed down the hill on Nott Terrace near Barney Street, slamming into a multi-family home, and injuring at least three people.
Two buildings at the top of the hill on Barney Street were demolished.
Crews have been assessing the land. They say they’ve been moving water, utility, and sanitation lines to prepare for the regrading work.
Contractors say they plan to continue work for about a week and a half. They say the area is still dangerous and is being secured by fences overnight.
