Police detain 1 suspect in possible active shooter situation in Downey, California
WASHINGTON (Circa) - Law enforcement officers have detained one suspect at the Kaiser Permanente Downey Medical Center in Downey, California.
The Norwalk Station of Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department issued a tweet saying there was a report of an active shooter at the facility.
According to the social media post, officers are working their way through the building clearing each room. They have asked those individuals inside the building to shelter in place.
They have asked the general public to avoid the area.
Downey police has confirmed there are no injuries.
