SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (WRGB) - Sharon Springs is where the Beekman 1802 brand of products came to life, with the farm and mercantile located there, essentially allowing them to produce their line of farm to table foods and other products.
As with all growing companies, sometimes you just need more space and thus came to life its new headquarters in Schenectady, with Thursday's grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony.
Bringing the headquarters to Schenectady and in particular at Mohawk Harbor made sense to the company owners, as the company continues to grow.
"So many people know our company is based in little Sharon Springs, about 45 miles from here where our farm is," said co-owner Brent Ridge. "But in opening our world headquarters, we needed a place where we could attract creative people from all over the country, and Schenectady is so convenient to Boston and New York City. It just made a great decision to locate here."
With a staff that continues to grow and sales also continuing to climb, the new 10,000 square foot headquarters will allow them to better manage their growing number of employees and further innovate new ideas for future products.
It's the best of both worlds for the company, with the foundation staying put in Sharon Springs and it's new base of operations in Schenectady guiding its future operations to bigger and better things ahead.
