You Paid For It: Reclaim NY files suit for access to records on economic development ads

One organization is filing a lawsuit to try to get access to information on how taxpayer money has been spent by Empire State Development.

Reclaim NY has been trying for months to get hold of public records relating to economic development ads touting Start-Up NY and other programs.

Those campaigns have cost nearly a quarter of a billion dollars.

Reclaim NY says the department has failed to meet job creation goals, and when asked for information on how the strategy is working, leadership says the strategy needs more time.
