Emily DeFeciani joined the CBS6 news team in May 2016. Prior to that she worked as a multi-media journalist at Time Warner Cable News in Albany.

Emily is thrilled to work in the Capital Region where she has lived her whole life. She is a proud Shen girl and a SUNY Oneonta graduate.

As a general assignment reporter, Emily has covered a wide range of stories across New York State. She provided continuous coverage in Dannemora after two convicts escaped from Clinton Correctional Facility and was there the day David Sweat was captured. She’s also covered corruption at the Capitol, American Pharoah at the Saratoga Race Course, water contamination in Hoosick Falls, and all kinds of breaking news.

When she’s not at work, Emily loves to spend time with her family and friends. She loves traveling, movies, shopping, and all things leopard print!
