Julia Dunn

Anchor

Julia Dunn joined CBS6 in March of 2013.

Previously she worked in Western Mass, Burlington, VT and Presque Isle, ME. She grew up just outside of Boston and attended Rollins College in Winter Park, FL. Her parents own a home in Falmouth on Cape Cod where she spends time during the summer.

Julia began her role as morning anchor at CBS6 more than a decade ago with the late Ed O'Brien. An accomplished reporter, she has covered many major stories since beginning her career in 2006. This includes live coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings and reports from London for the Royal Wedding of William and Catherine in 2011. She also produces a weekly segment 'Positively Upstate' highlighting unique people, places and events in the Capital Region.

Julia resides in Saratoga Springs with her wife, Erin and her son, Kevin (K2). She enjoys golfing, horseback riding and skiing. She also likes all-season tent camping - yes, this includes winter! Julia is a self-confessed history nerd and on the Board of Directors for the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation. She lives in a house that predates the Civil War.

More about Julia ...

  • I choose savory over sweet any time!
  • I love sushi.
  • My favorite movie of all-time is Gone with the Wind. But if we're going with less serious films, love classics like Caddyshack or Happy Gilmore.
  • I studied abroad at the University of Glasgow in Scotland.
  • My wife and I have sailed around Greece twice by ourselves. Once in the Ionian Sea, the other in Corfu.
  • I have a black cat named Stella.
  • I'd rather go to a Fleetwood Mac or Hall & Oates concert any day over a mainstream artist.
  • I'm a New England sports fan but also like the Rangers.
  • Some of my favorite TV shows of all time are Downton Abbey, The Sopranos, Frasier, The Simpsons (early years), and Game of Thrones.
