Steve Maugeri joined the CBS6 team in September 2017 and is thrilled to be back on the east coast. He grew up in Berwyn, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia.
Steve has deep family ties in the Capital Region. His grandfather is a proud Union College graduate, and he has several relatives living nearby in the Empire State.
After a brief stint in radio, Steve launched his reporting career at WFIE-TV in Evansville, Indiana. Steve wore a variety of hats in his two years there, dabbling in both news and sports. He reported on stories of all flavors, ranging from chasing EF-3 tornadoes, the gubernatorial election and the widely reported search for a young girl abducted from her home. Steve landed a pair of exclusive interviews with the family.
One of Steve’s favorite stories was about a man who vandalized a historic monument on Memorial Day weekend, culminating in a one-on-one jail interview with the suspect.
Steve graduated from Kutztown University in 2015. When he isn’t on assignment, you’ll find him working out, following his favorite sports teams, searching for a new “binge-watch worthy” series on Netflix and exploring everything upstate NY has to offer.
